The Uber Eats alternative for restaurants tired of the fee hikes.
In March 2026, Uber Eats raised its cheapest restaurant plan from 15% to 20% of every delivery order, and its other plans run 25–30%. BetterMakesCo gives your restaurant its own branded ordering website, with pickup and delivery, for a flat $299/mo. No commission, no setup fee, month to month.
What changed at Uber Eats in 2026
Uber's merchant terms now list three U.S. marketplace plans for delivery: Lite at 20%, Plus at 25%, and Premium at 30%. On the Plus plan, orders from Uber One members are charged 30%. Pickup orders went from 6% to 7% when the restaurant keeps the same prices as in the store, and 10% otherwise. Some cities cap these fees by law, so your rate can differ by location.
For a restaurant, that means the cheapest way to be on Uber Eats got a third more expensive overnight, and you had no say in it. That's the real risk of depending on any marketplace: they set the price.
The math: Uber Eats fees vs. a flat monthly price
Here's what a 20% fee (the Lite plan) and a 30% fee (Premium) add up to, next to BetterMakesCo's flat Core plan.
| Monthly delivery sales | 20% fee | 30% fee | BetterMakesCo Core |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $299 |
| $10,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $299 |
| $20,000 | $4,000 | $6,000 | $299 |

Keep Uber Eats for new customers. Move your regulars direct.
You don't have to leave Uber Eats. Use it to get discovered, then give the people who come back a better way to order: your own site, on your Google listing, your website, your bags, and your receipts. Every order that moves over is an order with no fee taken out of it.
On the Growth plan ($499/mo), your Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub orders come into the same kitchen tablet as your direct orders, through Otter.
How it works
- Send us your menu. A photo or PDF is enough. We build your branded ordering website with your menu and prices. No setup fee.
- We connect your payments and kitchen. Clover, Square, and Shift4 POS connections are included; Toast is supported (Toast bills its own $50/mo integration fee). Payouts arrive daily through Stripe.
- Take pickup and delivery orders. For delivery, a courier is booked for each order, and the customer pays the delivery fee at checkout.
- Bring your regulars over. Your link on Google, your website, bags, and receipts, plus reorder messages to customers who already ordered from you.
Questions restaurants ask
How much does Uber Eats charge restaurants in 2026?
Uber's U.S. merchant terms list delivery marketplace fees of 20% (Lite), 25% (Plus, or 30% on Uber One member orders), and 30% (Premium). Pickup is 7% with in-store pricing and 10% otherwise. The Lite rate rose from 15% to 20% in March 2026. Some cities cap these fees, so check your own agreement.
Does BetterMakesCo charge commission?
No. You pay a flat monthly price: $299/mo for Core or $499/mo for Growth, per location. There is no percentage of your sales and no setup fee, and plans are month to month. Card processing is extra, and your customers pay a $0.99 service fee per online order at checkout.
Do I have to leave Uber Eats?
No. Most restaurants keep Uber Eats for new customers and move their regulars to ordering direct. On the Growth plan, Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub orders all land on one kitchen tablet through Otter.
Who delivers orders from my own site?
A courier from an on-demand delivery network is booked for each delivery order, and the customer pays the delivery fee at checkout. You don't need your own drivers.
Can you promise how much I'll save?
No. Your savings depend on how many of your customers order from your own site. We'll show you the numbers for your restaurant so you can decide.
